The Bohme s disc method for petrochemical estimation of rocks now used appears to be equivalent to the dynamic abrasion method only for monolithic, monomineral rocks. For rocks softer than silica or those composed of minerals of distinct hardness, porous or partially weathered, no correlation is found between Bohme s method and Vickers hardness or any other hardness, and abrasive action on a surface 42-49 cm2 in area does not allow estimation of the structural and textural specificity of orientations in the rock under test. [Pg.128]

Through careful selection of the samples to be tested in dynamic adsorption, the importance of the different textural characteristics of these materials could be judged Typical breakthrough curves of o-DCB in the exit gas against time in operation for ChFc-m treated at 150°C, 500°C and 850°C and MSB-m/b are shown in Fig. 2. [Pg.574]

The present work investigates the static and dynamic behaviors of liquid droplets on 14 silicon wafers coated with one of two substrate materials with standard semiconductor industry processes. Wafers 1-10 were textured with an array of squares containing a nanopattem of linear grooves, and wafers 11-14 were unpattemed. Since the patterns were anisotropic, each test was conducted in two directions — parallel and perpendicular to the pattern. These directions could be easily tracked by their relation to the wafer notch. A schematic of the patterned wafers is shown in Fig. 1. [Pg.92]

The breakthrough time was taken when 0.3 ppm of organic was detected in the exit gases, indicating the fall in the efficiency of the unit The amount adsorbed at this point was calculated in terms of the liquid volume taking the liquid density of o-DCB as 1.3048 [18] in order that comparison with the textural charaeteristics of the adsorbent could be made. Eaeh dynamic adsorption test was performed with fresh samples of monolith. The full results from these experiments are given in Table 1. [Pg.588]
