Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium and

When harvesting the amnion layer, the tissue is placed onto a nitrocellulose carrier sheet. The sheet is preserved in a 1 1 solution of Dulbecco s Modified Eagle Medium and glycerol. Different companies use a combination of the following antibiotics in the solution for preservation penicillin, streptomycin, neomycin, amphotericin B, and ciprofloxacin. Cryopreserved must be stored at -80°C until the time of utilization. The membrane is thawed and then washed in a saline solution before transplantation. Expiration date is usually 2 months from processing if stored at -SO C. [Pg.157]
