Drug therapy and psychotherapy of depressions

Numerous investigations have been published concerning the question of the contributions that psychotherapy and drug therapy can make to the treatment of depressions, which psychotherapeutic procedures are particularly suitable for depressions and whether combined drug therapy and psychotherapy is sensible for depressions. [Pg.279]

The first such investigation, the so-called Boston New Haven Study, has been described in several complementary individual reports (Klerman et al., 1974 Weissman et al., 1974 Paykel et al., 1976). This started out with 150 ambulatory female depressed patients and involved a comparison between six forms of treatment  [Pg.280]
