The micro reactor properties concern process control in the time domain and process refinement in the space domain [65]. As a result, uniform electrical fields are generated and efficiency is thought to be high. Furthermore, electrical potential and currents can be directly measured without needing transducer elements. The reactor fabrication methods for electrical connectors employ the same methods as used for microelectronics which have proven to satisfy mass-fabrication demands. [Pg.548]

The time-domain differential equation description of systems can be used instead of the Laplace-domain transfer function description. Naturally the two are related, and we will derive these relationships later in this chapter. State variables are very popular in electrical and mechanical engineering control problems which tend to be of lower order (fewer differential equations) than chemical engineering control problems. Transfer function representations are more useful in practical process control problems because the matrices are of lower order than would be required by a state variable representation. [Pg.551]

To achieve better control of the poling, we have developed an on-line electro-optic monitoring technique . The technique is based on the accumulated change of the electro-optic response when the domains grow through the crystal from the patterned side to the opposite side. A He-Ne beam polarized 45° to the z-axis is launched along the x-axis of the crystal (figure 9). When an electric field is applied, the output polarization state of... [Pg.206]

Both the time and the space domain show field free (white) areas with respect to the actual potentials. In the time domain these effects emerge during switching. In the space domain the electric field in the gaps between the finger electrodes cannot be controlled fully. This is the main reason for some blurr in the filter process. The relative mass resolution can be approximated as ... [Pg.435]

In the history of explosion protection of electrical apparatus, remote monitoring and controlling has become more and more the domain of intrinsic safety - i... [Pg.282]
