Population diversity

In highly saline brines, which were collected from the Vassar Vertz Sand Unit, Pajme County, Oklahoma, diverse populations of anaerobic, heterotrophic bacteria were present. Traditionally, insurance is the main mechanisms available to individuals and business to manage the financial consequences of risky events, such as natural hazards like windstorms and floods. Insurance companies used to work making each individual or business pay a premium to protect themselves against an uncertain loss. The premium is calculated by pooling risks across a large and diverse population considering the pool s expected losses. 

Divergent phases many molecular species survived with similar probabilities, resulting in a diverse population. 

The huge diversity of enzymes observed in nature is attributed to evolutionary processes where diverse populations of gene variants (with sequence variations generated by mutation and recombination) are subjected to selection of the fittest enzyme functions. Those genes which confer advantageous traits to their hosts are more likely to be maintained and disseminated in populations than those that do not. 

The use of the symbol Dj is strictly my own, used for convenience. The actual names and symbols used depend upon the institutions involved (Table 8.3). None of these institutions refers to the values they derive as true population thresholds, but they are thought to be protective of large diverse populations. 

The need to tailor caimabis treatments to a very diverse population of users has also been usefully considered by Steinberg et al. (2002).

Methamphetamine use and abuse was traditionally believed to be one of white, blue-collar males. However, that has rapidly shifted in the past decade, with methamphetamine being used by a very diverse population.
