Dioxy-compounds

Neostrychnine (CXVII-A) has been oxidized to strychnone (CLXVI R = O) (137) and neostrychnidine to strychnidone (CLXVI R = H2) (76). Methoxymethylchanodihydroneobrucidine (cf. LXVTI) is oxidized in acetone at — 10° to a mixture of probably stereoisomeric dioxy compounds CLXVII (81). [Pg.628]

For example, photocyclization61,78 of compound 49, derived from the phenyl complex la by addition of cyclopentadiene, was shown to afford the 1,2-dioxy naphthalene 50 (Scheme 18).79 Thus, the regiochemistry of this type of ring annulation is complementary to that of the Dotz reaction, which yields 1,4-dioxy compounds. Photocyclization of aminocarbene complex 5180 involves insertion of carbon monoxide and leads to production of an 2-amino-l-oxy naphthalene derivative 52. Regio isomers, e.g., l-amino-2-oxy compounds 54, can be generated thermally by intermediate formation of a ketene imine 53 by addition of an isocyanide to compound 49 79,81,82 (Amino)alkynylcarbene complexes also give [4+2] cycloadducts, but they prove to be much less reactive than the corresponding alkoxycar-bene compounds (Scheme 18).42,83... [Pg.185]

Triphosphazenes substituted with three naphthalenedioxy-groups form clathrates with aromatic hydrocarbons, and X-ray studies have been carried out on two such compounds. Evidence has been provided for a fixed position within the channels for the guest, p-xylene, with the 1,9-dioxy derivative,426 but the benzene molecules clathrated in the 2,3-dioxy-compound are disordered.427... [Pg.367]

Highly durable, chemically inert, thermo-stable aromatic polyesters can be produced by interaction of polymers containing links of -oxyben-zoic acid, aromatic dioxy-compounds, for example of hydroquinone and aromatic dicarboxylic acids [40]. Thermo and chemically resistant polyesters of improved mechanical strength can be obtained by the reaction of n-oxybenzoic acid, aromatic dicarboxylic acids, aromatic dioxy-compounds and diaryl carbonates held in solid phase or in high-boiling solvents [41] at temperature 180 °C and lowered pressure, possibly in the presence of catalysts [42], Some characteristics of aromatic polyesters based on n-oxybenzoic acid are gathered in Table 7.1 [20],... [Pg.119]

The block-copolyesterketones are synthesized [396] on the basis of dichloranhydride-1,1 -dichlor-2,2 -bis( -carboxyphenyl)ethylene and various dioxy-compounds with complex of worthy properties. It is possible to create, on the basis of obtained polymers, the constructive and film materials possessing lower combustibility and high insulating properties. Some synthesized materials are promising as modifiers of high-density polyethylene. [Pg.166]

The co-occurrence of the 3-benzylchroman-4-one derivative 3,9-dihydroeucomnalin (13), scillascillin (19) and 2-hydroxy-7-0-methyl-scillascillin (20) in Scilla scilloides opened a discussion on their possible biogenetic relationship (19). Starting from the 3,3 -dioxy compound (98), cyclization to the spirocyclic intermediate (99) and formation of the scillascillin skeleton (101) may easily take place. In a similar manner... [Pg.142]

Electrophotographic photoreceptors based on polycarbonate resins have been prepared by treating aromatic dioxy compounds with phosgene [274]. Electrophotographic photoconductors containing fluorine-bearing polycarbonate binders have also been prepared from bisphenol A, phosgene, and 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane [275]. [Pg.583]

As an extension of the work described in the previous section, we have recently found that aldehydes can be allylated under mild conditions by allyltrifluorosilane in the presence of one equivalent of dioxy compounds and triethylamine. ... [Pg.220]

Several aldehydes were allylated smoothly under mild conditions. The allylation was also regiospecific where the carbon-carbon bond formation occurred exclusively at the 7-carbon of allylsilane. In addition to dioxy compounds, monooxy compounds such as methanol was found effective to give the expected homoallyl alcohols in moderate yield. Amino-oxy compounds were also effective in the reaction where allylation takes place without triethy-... [Pg.220]

It has been shown, that characteristic of PHE, synthesized in reactionary medium water-isopropanol, are dependants to a considerable extent on the indicated components ratio [21]. The increase of isopropanol contents in mixture from 30 to 55 vol.% results to reduced viscosity growth from -0.16 to 0.50 dl/g. This effect [21] was explained within the frameworks of Gammet model, which supposed, that isopropyl spirit addition decreased interaction between molecules of water and bisphenol, resulting to enhancement of dioxi compound nucleophyl reactionary abihty at the expense of hydrogen bond formation [62]. [Pg.38]
