Dimethylacetamide, as solvent

Recently ureas have been obtained by the oxidation of carbohydrazide (oxidative carbamylation) [78] with 4 moles of iodine in the presence of 10 moles of amine (or 2 moles of the amine and 8 moles of triethylamine) using dimethylacetamide as solvent (Eq. 55). (See Table IX.)... [Pg.336]

Thallium(i) forms precipitates (T1X) and soluble complexes (T1X2) with the anions Cl , Br, T, and Nj in dimethylacetamide as solvent. Formation constants have been calculated for all of these species.608... [Pg.187]

Gabriel reaction. Review.1 The Gabriel reaction is ordinarily not applicable to aryl halides however, under catalysis with cuprous bromide or iodide and in boiling DMA (dimethylacetamide) as solvent, aryl bromides or iodides (but not chlorides) react with potassium phthalimide to give phthalimido compounds in >5-95% yield.2... [Pg.239]

High-molecular-weight polymers are obtained with an outstanding solubility in polar aprotic solvents. This polymer is suitable for the preparation of anion exchange membranes by solution casting using dimethylacetamide as solvent [12]. [Pg.180]

Keeping the beneficial role of bases for the progress of the catalytic reaction in mind, Spencer recommended amides as solvents [19]. Indeed, only in the presence of AfdV-dialkylated amides was C-C coupling observed. In other solvents such as THF, ethyl acetate, or acetone, preferentially methanol was formed. Based on these findings, Ezhova and coworkers [20] conducted a detailed kinetic study in mesitylene/DMAA (DMAA=AfdV-dimethylacetamide) as solvent. It was found that the initial rate of the hydroformylation of formaldehyde is dependent on the concentration of an anionic complex with the general structure [Rh(CO)2(PPh3) (DMAA) ]. It can be formed from the Wilkinson complex or other precatalysts shown in Scheme 6.119 in a syngas atmosphere [21]. Under the effect of the protonated base, formaldehyde can add to this anionic complex with the formation of the hydroxymethyl—rhodium complex and the catalytic cycle proceeds. The reaction follows first-order kinetics. Under neutral conditions, a dimeric rhodium complex was observed. [Pg.622]

The first published work involving cellulosic fibers electrospxm from a liqxiid crystal phase [88] described the production of acetoxypropylcellxilose (APC) fibers from an anisotropic solution that used dimethylacetamide as solvent, with a concentration of 60 wt% in polymer. [Pg.228]
