It should be noted that sucrose, which is used in isotonic solution, will remain in samples and affect the accurate weight of subcellular fractions. Chen et al suggested that ammonium acetate is a better isotonic solute than sucrose

Subcellular distributions of trace elements in human liver, human brain and brain tumor,beef heart,bovine kidney, rat tissues, plant leaves, have been studied by dilferential centrifugation-NAA. Tables 2.2 and 2.3 give the distribution of 24 elements in whole tissues and their subcellular fractions of human liver.
