Dibutyl peroxide

There are much fewer data for the dialkyl peroxides. The gas phase enthalpy of formation difference between the diethyl and dibutyl peroxides of about 40 kJ moH per methylene group is about twice that of the normal methylene increment of ca 21.6 kJmoH. The 219 kJmoH enthalpy of formation difference between the di-fert-butyl and di-fert-amyl peroxide is so large as to be incredible. [Pg.147]

The most common compound used to improve the cetane number of distillate fuel is 2-ethylhexyl nitrate, an isooctyl nitrate. Dibutyl peroxide, certain glycols and other nitroparaffins are also effective at improving the cetane number of diesel fuel, but their acceptance is not as widespread as isooctyl nitrate. [Pg.160]

Small Quantities. Wear nitrile rubber gloves eye protection large, heavy face shield and laboratory coat. Work in the fume hood behind a heavy body shield. Slowly add the dibutyl peroxide (1 g) to a solution of sodium iodide (2.5 g) in hydrochloric acid (1 mL) and glacial acetic acid (20 mL). Stir at room temperature for 24 hours. Neutralize the solution by the slow addition of sodium carbonate while stirring. Wash into the drain.6... [Pg.212]

From butyl bromide, an 80 % yield of dibutyl peroxide was obtained. [Pg.158]

Neoergosterol is available in a single step by treating ergosterol with dibutyl peroxide in n-decane under reflux. A 2-methoxy-4-methyloestra-1,3,5(10)-triene (161) is oxidized by peracetic acid to give the 5j5-hydroxy-l(10),3-dien-2-one... [Pg.267]

A poly(L-lactic acid) was fed to a double screw kneader at 200°C. To this, ethylene glycol dimethacrylate as a crosslinking agent and dibutyl peroxide as a radical pol5nnerization initiator were added. Pellets were formed from this mixture. [Pg.214]
