Sodium iodomercurate (i.e., aqueous solution of sodium and merucric iodides) 

Red liquid, highly corrosive emitting toxic vapors. 

Highly toxic risk of fatal thallium poisoning. 

Gives a dense precipitate of mercuric iodide with an excess of water, which dissolves without decomposition in alcohol lithium iodo-mercurate solution has a density of 3.28 at 25.6 and ammonium iodo-mercurate solution a density of 2.98 at 26. 

Introduced by D. Klein. The salt melts in its water of crystalUzation at 750°C, and the liquid thus obtained goes up to a density of 3600 kg.m.
