Hydro-denitrogenation

The middle distillates were hydro-treated under conditions of 1000 psig, 1000 SCF H2/bbl, 3 LHSV, and temperatures ranging from 450 -700°F in 50 F increments. Again, desulfurization, denitrogenation, and gravity changes were profiled utilizing American Cyanamid HDS-3A nickel-moly catalyst. [Pg.248]

Table VII presents the results of hydro-treating the heavy distillates. The petroleum fraction was 56% desulfurized at 625°F and 83% at 725°F. Desulfurization of the coal material was 82% at 625°F and 90% at 725°F. The shale liquid underwent 28% desulfurization at 625°F and 56% at 725°F. Denitrogenation of the coal and shale heavy gas oils was very poor. Maximum denitrogenation occurred at 725 °F and gave values of 69% for petroleum, 17% for coal, and 56% for the shale material. The tabulated experimental results are presented in Table VII. Table VII presents the results of hydro-treating the heavy distillates. Hydro- denitrogenation Al-M/ YAI2O3 impreg. withNi- Mo. The Al-M showed significant activity for nitrogen removal, but activity was low compared to other catalyst (eg. deahuninated Laponite, commercial hydrotreating catalyst and y alumina). Resistance to deactivation was comparable to y alumina, but not as effective as dealuminated Laponite. 69... [Pg.20]

To model hydrotreatment (HDT) processes, however, we have extended this approach to all reactions hydrodesulphurisation (HDS), hydro-denitrogenation (HDN) and hydrogenation of aromatics (HDA), since it is the only one possible in the case of sulphide catalysis (Bonnardot, 1998 Magne-Drisch, 1995). [Pg.268]

An extensive study of heteroatom removal has been carried out at the Gulf Research and Development Company. This and a few other studies have been summarized by Shah and Cronauer (55) and Shah and Krishnamurthy (56) and they will not be repeated here. Instead, in the following pages, a few other reported works on hydrodesulfurization (HDS), hydrodeoxygenation (HDO), and hydro-denitrogenation (HDN) of real systems and model compounds, that may be relevant to coal liquefaction, are briefly discussed. [Pg.1050]
