Catalysts for hydrotreating

Hydrotreating and Hydrogenation. - Nitride and oxynitride catalysts have been extensively investigated as catalysts for hydrotreating (in particular hydronitrogenation and hydrodesulfurisation) and hydrogenation (for CO, aromatics, crotonaldehyde and alkenes ° the reduction of NO with H2 has been covered in the previous section). [Pg.104]

C) Under the reaction conditions of this study there seems to be no difference in the hydrodenitrogenation activity of MD and BD catalysts for hydrotreating raw anthracene oil. [Pg.193]

Zeolites containing transition metai offer interesting possibilities to combine acid properties and a hydrogenation function in bifunctional catalysts. For hydrotreating, e.g. for hydrodesulfurization (HDS) and hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) reactions, both functions are essential the acid properties are provided by the zeolite, the hydrogenation activity by the sulfided transition metal cations [1,2]. It can be expected that these catalysts will be attractive alternatives to alumina supported Co-Mo and Ni-Mo hydrotreating catalysts because of their superior catalytic properties. [Pg.582]

Hydrotreating of petroleum feedstocks have become more and more crucial not only for protecting environments but also for efficient utilization of natural resources. Extensive researches have been conducted to develop highly active catalysts for hydrotreating, in particular for hydrodesulfurization (HDS) [1-3]. [Pg.77]

An important example are alumina-supported Co—Mo and Ni—Mo sulfides, which constitute the active phases in catalysts for hydrotreating of middle distillates (403). It appears that in such catalysts, mostly pseudoboehmite-derived Y-AI2O3 is used as the support. According to fiter-ature data, catalysts for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) gasoline desulfurization, which is performed at 260—340 °C and 5—30 atm, may contain 5—11 wt% molybdenum and 2-3 wt% cobalt supported on AI2O3 with a surface area of220—240 w (405).
