Democratic materialism

In addition several other materials have been reported by industrial companies, but have not at the time of writing been commercialised. These include the product of condensation of 2,2-bis-(p-aminocyclohexyl)propane (VI) (Figure 18.28) with a mixture of adipic and azelaic acid (Phillips Petroleum), a research material produced in the old German Democratic Republic obtained by melt condensation of /ranj -cyclohexane-l,4-dicarboxylic acid (VII) (Figure 18.28) and the two trimethylhexamethylenediamine isomers used in the manufacture of Trogamid T, and another amorphous material (Rilsan N by Ato Chimie). [Pg.512]

Nodularia spwnigena has also been shown to produce a peptide with hepato-toxic activity. The more recent reports come from Australia (76), the German Democratic Republic (77), Denmark (78), Sweden (79), and Finland (80,81). Recently structure information on Nodularia toxin has been presented by Rinehart (97) for waterbloom material collected in Lake Forsythe, New Zealand, in 1984 by Eriksson et al. (81) from waterbloom material collected in the Baltic Sea in 1986, and Runnegar et al. (82) for a field isolate from the Peel Inlet, Perth, Australia. Structure work by Rinehart, Eriksson, and Runnegar all indicate that the peptide is smaller than the heptapeptide toxins. Rinehart s work (97) indicates the toxin is a pentapeptide with a similar structure to the heptapeptides and containing fi-methylaspartic acid, glutamic acid, arginine, dehydrobutyrine, and ADDA (MW 824). [Pg.101]

The Government of the German Democratic Republic published a standard TGL 10596/03 in 1977 for a product containing not less than 40% in a stabilised paste with mineral oil and adhesive components . This material was recommended for a wide range of applications, including -... [Pg.276]

Generally, the problems with acid water occur mostly in areas with granitic or similarly resistive bedrock, and with sparse soil cover derived from the same parent material. Calcium concentration levels in surface waters are generally low, typically less than 2 mg/1. This explains why the problem so far has mainly surfaced in Scandinavia, and in areas of similar geological formations on the Canadian shield and in the Adirondack Mountains. Some acidification of lakes and water courses has also occurred in England and Scotland (32,33), and in the Erzgebirge between the German Democratic Republic and Czechoslovakia (34,35). [Pg.15]

Natural fibres are harvested or produced more or less directly from natural bio-products. Flax, coconut and hemp fibres are the most widely used fibres. As these materials have limited strength and other weaknesses (e.g. a tendency to decay organically), they are not widely used in the building sector. A famous example of their use in the car industry was the Trabant car manufactured in the former German Democratic Republic which used cotton-reinforced fibres for the exterior skin. [Pg.429]
