Weuster-Botz and coworkers demonstrated the one-pot reduction of dehydro-cholic add 57 to a series of useful bile acids as shown in Scheme 6.22. The example in this series involved the 100 mM conversion of dehydrocholic add to more than 99.5 mM of 12-keto- ursodeoxycholic acid 60 within 4.5 h in a simple batch process on a liter scale [35].
