Deconvolution/decoding

The new field of molecular diversity raises three issues which need to be addressed by the organic analytical chemistry community (i) What tools can we use for following solid-phase reactions (ii) How can we analyze all these samples (iii) How much characterization of libraries is possible or appropriate This chapter deals with these problems and reviews the literature since a similar review written in June 1995 [2] (earlier seminal publications are described where appropriate). Other analytical issues such as decoding of combinatorial libraries or the applications of affinity separations and single-bead mass spectrometry for library deconvolution are dealt with in other chapters of this book. [Pg.59]

Combinatorial synthesis towards libraries of compound mixtures can be done either on a solid support or in solution. In both cases an effective decoding strategy is required to extract structural information from the results of the biological assay (see Section 1.4.2.1.2 Deconvolution by Orthogonal Libraries). [Pg.11]

We show here the decoding ability of the direct approach for a coded aperture telescope. The telescope comprises a twin-prime mask and a position sensitive detector, the elements of both the mask and detector have a linear size of 1 cm, the separation between the mask and detector plane is 4 m. Measured data for a region containing two sources separated by 14 with the telescope is produced by simidation. The image reconstructed by cross-correlation deconvolution and that by direct demodulation are shown in Fig.l(a) and (b) respectively. [Pg.65]
