Dealers confirmation

In a letter to the Annals of Philosophy, dated Cambridge, February 18, 1820, Edward Daniel Clarke wrote as follows Some varieties of radiated blende from Przibram in Bohemia are described by Stromeyer as containing two or three per cent of cadmium. At a sale. .. in London, I procured specimens of the particular mineral thus alluded to, which were sold under the name of splendent fibrous blende from Przibram, pronounced Pritzbram. I found afterwards that they had been brought to England by Mr. J. Sowerby of Lisle-street, a dealer in minerals.. . . Upon my return to Cambridge, I endeavoured to obtain cadmium from this ore, and succeeded. . . (133). Clarke also found this element in die zinc silicate from Derbyshire, England, and his results were soon confirmed by W. H. Wollaston and J. G. Children. In 1822 Clarke published a paper on the presence of cadmium in commercial sheet zinc (134). 

A Dirty Silicate Story A friend of one of the authors is an astronomer—as well as a professional mineral dealer—who became interested in dirty silicates as candidates for interstellar dust. He therefore selected for determination of the blackest natural silicate mineral in his possession, the coal-black mineral hornblende, which contains a high concentration of impurities such as iron. A slice about 100 jam thick was polished, and transmission was measured in a recording spectrophotometer. The fact that appreciable light was transmitted for all near-infrared and visible wavelengths indicated that k was rather small. Calculations indeed confirmed that k was less than 10 4 between about 6 and 0.3 jum. And yet this was the blackest silicate in the possession of a professional collector. Poverty and pursuit of profit, these twinned opposites, maim the human senses. The dealer in minerals sees only money, another hard, inhuman substance - metal formed as symbol - when he sees his sellable jewels. The human essence is objectified in its world, in order to make the human s sense human, as well as to create the human sense corresponding to the entire wealth of human and natural substance . Once we enter the realm of freedom, jewels and minerals will be appreciated for their beauty and their specificity truly and above all, and our senses will be able to perceive them in their true light. 

Section 8(3) of the Act requires those involved in the wholesale dealing of a medicinal product to hold a wholesale dealer s licence. If the product is imported from another Member State, a wholesale dealer s licence will be required. If it is imported from a country outside the EU, a wholesale dealer s (importation) licence will be required. Schedule 1 to the 1994 Regulations confirms that these provisions apply equally to particular patient supply.

There are also sales restrictions in the United States implemented in order to prevent tax evasion. For this purpose, under the TEFRA D Rule, the arranger will have to agree that it will not offer, sell or deliver the notes (i) as part of their distribution at any time or (ii) otherwise until 40 days after the later of the commencement of the offering and the issue date within the United States or to US persons and that it will have sent to each dealer to which it sells any notes during the distribntion compliance period, a confirmation, or other notice setting forth the restrictions on offers and sales of the notes within the United States or to US persons.
