Professor Volkmar Vill received his Diploma in diemistry in 1986, his Diploma in Physics in 1988 and his Ph.D. in Chemistry in 1990 from the University of Munster, Germany. In 1997 he earned his HabOitation in Organic Chemistry from the University of Hamburg where he is Professor of Organic Chemistry since 2002. He is the author of the LiqCryst - Database of Liquid Crystals and the Editor of the Handbcxtk of Liquid Crystals, of Landolt-Bdmstein, Organic Index, and Vol. VIII/ 5a, Physical Propaties of Liquid Crystals.
