Data collection in the borrow area

Sufficient information on fill material must be collected within potential borrow areas. Chapter 3 presents the sources regarding the collection of such data. [Pg.105]

Data collection in borrow areas is necessary in order to prepare  [Pg.105]

The information required for the quality assessment must focus on the material properties. The evaluation thereof should enable a prediction of the mass properties after deposition of the fill and the possible need for additional ground improvement. [Pg.105]

A quantity estimate of a potential borrow area should rely on sufficient spatial information allowing for a delimitation of the fill deposits. [Pg.105]

Results of the data collection must also include information on in-situ density and shear strength in order to enable an accurate selection of the type of dredging equipment to be employed within the borrow area. [Pg.105]

It should be kept in mind that the feasibility of the requirements for the fill material within the reclamation depends on the characteristics of the material encountered in the borrow area. In order to check the feasibility of the Specifications, sufficient geotechnical data collected in the borrow area are required (see Chapter 3 Data Collection). [Pg.447]
