Cypholophine (106) and O-acetylcypholophine (107) were isolated in 1970 by Hart et al. (157) from Cypholophus friesianus (K. Schum.) H. Winkl. (Urticaceae), a shrub growing in Australia and New Guinea. Spectral data and degradation products led to the proposal of structure 106 for cypholophine. This structure was confirmed by the following synthesis. [Pg.309]
