Tetrahydro-2//-l,3,4-oxadiazin-2-ones <89EUP299449> and l-acyl-3-aryl-l//-4,l,2-benzoxa-diazines exhibit lipoxygenase inhibition <91EUP410834> the latter compounds are also cycloxygenase inhibitors. 

The phospholipase Aj inhibitor dibromoaceto-phenone, the anti-inflammatory steroid fluocino-lone acetonide or the lipoxygenase inhibitor nordi-hydroguiaretic acid just prior to intraperitoneal injection of 100 ng 12-0-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate into unmanipulated CD-I female mice resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in the number of peritoneal exudate cells producing superoxide anion radical as assessed by the reduction of nitro-blue tetrazolium, while the cycloxygenase inhibitor indomethacin had no effect on the number of formazan-positive peritoneal exudate cells caused by PMA treatment (Czerniecki and Witz 1989). 

There are few definitive data to substantiate the efficacy of LTRA therapy in refractory asthma, except for patients with aspirin-sensitive asthma. This is a fairly uncommon form of asthma that occurs generally in adults who often have no prior (i.e., childhood) history of asthma or atopy, may have nasal polyposis, and who often are dependent upon oral corticosteroids for control of their asthma. Leflunomide is used in the therapy of autoimmune diseases, such as active rheumatoid arthritis. Celecoxib is the first to market of a number of selective cycloxygenase 2 (COX 2) inhibitors which show great promise as anti-inflammatory and analgetic agents, without the undesirable side effects associated with other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories. There are many pyrazole dyestuffs - the food colourant tartrazine is one such substance.
