Cutting charge

Schneiderit = mixture of AN and nitrocompounds, mostly dinitro-naphthalene (french) Schneidladungen = cutting charges 67 283... [Pg.42]

Cutting charges serve to cut through iron plates, cables, bridge trusses etc. They are constructed on the principle of - Shaped Charges, but are not rotationally symmetrical their shape is that of long channels (grooves). [Pg.118]

A highly brisant explosive is required for this purpose. Mud caps are usually covered with mud in order to enhance their brisance. It is often desirable to use charges of definite shape (-> Shaped Charges-, -> Cutting Charges). [Pg.278]

A plane-symmetrical shaped charge (cutting charge) is an explosive charge with a hollow space, which acts longitudinally in the plane of symmetry ( roof-shaped charges). [Pg.345]

Takahashi (143) obtained less clear-cut charge separation effects when an ice rod was broken. This effect occurred even if no temperature gradient was present, and its magnitude depended on crystallinity (mono-or polycrystalline ice), bubble content, and temperature gradient. [Pg.45]
