Current knowledge and future possibilities

The last decade witnessed a dramatic growth in the use of energetic beam techniques to elucidate the electronic structures of atoms and molecules. Photon, electron, and ion spectroscopies applied to solids gave birth to a new level of surface sensitivity for studies of chemical structure and bonding. The time was right to provide a benchmark for the state of current knowledge and future possibilities in the field. [Pg.449]

It should also be recognized that ISAT is a relatively new concept, and thus further improvements are possible and desirable. Based on current knowledge, future improvements can be expected in the following two areas ... [Pg.339]

This report explores a limited set of hypothetical alternative chemistries of life by following a hierarchy of possibilities that have been ranked through experimental, exploratory, and theoretical work done in the past. The study briefly reviews current knowledge concerning the following questions or hypotheses and provides suggestions for future research. [Pg.11]

We can see that either in local (ecosystem) or in global scale, the experimental description of these processes is very complicated and restricted by current knowledge of biogeochemical cycling structure. Simulation seems a good tool to make a theoretical overview of many possible processes in both current and future teams. [Pg.230]

The survey given has been necessarily brief. Many important experiments or techniques have been omitted, and many interpretations may be less than definitive. Nevertheless, we hope that by setting diverse techniques side by side and comparing these where possible, a reasonably critical evaluation of results and interpretations (both past and future) may be made, and that a fairly well-focused picture of the current state of knowledge may be apparent. [Pg.217]

Four different countries were preselected to review the proposed maturity model and answer the assessment to identify current and future states based on demand driven supply chain concepts. In this way, it wiU be possible to validate the proposed maturity model at the same time that companies current and future states are identified. The main criteria to select the countries were their market maturity, interviewees supply chain practical experience, and author s knowledge of their operations. [Pg.34]
