Cubenol

The main components of Salvia mirzayanii were Linalool, Linalyl acetate, a-Tei pinyl acetate, 5-Cadinene, Spathulenol, Cubenol and a-Cadinol. The extraction yield, based on hydrodistillatin was 2.2% (v/w), and based on the SFE varied in the range of 0.65-10.59% (v/w) under different conditions. 

About 20 oxygenated sesquiterpenes have been identified from pepper oil. They are 5,10(15)-cadinen-4-ol,caryophylla-3(12), 7(15)-dien-4-P-ol, caryophylla-2,7(15)-dien-4- 3-ol, caryophylla-2,7(15)-dien-4-ol, P-caryophellene alcohol, caryophyllene ketone, caryophellene oxide, epoxy-dihydrocaryophellene, cis-nero-lidol, 4,10,10-trimethyl-7-methylene bicycle-(6.2.0) decane-4-carboxaldehyde, cubenol, epi-cubenol, viridiflorol, a- and P-bisabolols, cubebol, elemol and y-eudesmol.

Samples of the essential oil from one of these species, B. salicifolia collected in the province of Cordoba (Argentina), together with Baccharis crispa Spreng. and Baccharis cordobensis Heering were examined [65,66], The major constituents were nerolidol (15.8%), Fig. (29), cadinol (14.7%), Fig. (30) and cubenol (8.8%) from B. cordobensis, cadinol (9.4%), Fig. (30) and germacrane D (8.8%), Fig. (31) from B. salicifolia and nerolidol (27%), Fig. (29) from B. crispa.
