Crystallography element specific

Element specific crystallography of single crystals. Study of the site specific and/or chemical state specific bonding of adsorbates to single crystal surfaces. Structure of buried interfaces. Applications, where UHV specific techniques are not applicable. 

Numerous reports of other examples of 1 2 Peacock-Weakley complexes are summarized in Table 5. Whereas some of these species have subsequently been confirmed by structural crystallography, many of the cited references report only non structure-specific data such as elemental analyses, IR spectra, magnetic moments, and electrochemistry. 

Thus, even for the simplest elemental semiconductor, a complete picture is not yet available for the surface crystallography or the surface electronic structure. Somewhat surprisingly, the cleavage plane of a III—V compound semiconductor, i.e. 110 GaAs, is much more completely characterized and we will consider this next as our final specific example of a clean semiconductor surface.
