There have been examples of other materials, such as thin glass-epoxy, that have not been widely used. To satisfy the new concept of HDI flexible circuits, innovative uses of raw materials such as polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) film, liquid crystal polymer (LCP) film, and poly ether ether ketone (PEEK) film have been introduced. Comparisons are shown in Table 61.7. 

Polyesters containing ethylene moities, namely polyethylene-biphenylate (PEBB) and naphthalate (EN) copolsrmers, were analyzed by Wendling and co-workers (401) in an effort to comprehend their crystal/amorphous structures. They found that minority repeat imits were excluded from the crystalline phase of the majority comonomer when the concentrations of the two are very dissimilar, whereas the two comonomers are able to cocrystalUze by segregation when their compositions are more nearly equal.
