CREDO

Mason M D, Credo G M, Weston K D and Buratto S K 1998 Luminescence of individual porous Si chromophores Phys. Rev. Lett. 80 5405-8... [Pg.2510]

The Centralized Reliability Data Organization (CREDO) is maintained at ORNL to provide a central computer-based source of accurate, timely data and information for use in reliability, availability and maintainability analyses of liquid metal reactors (LMRs). CREDO is a component-based system, that addresses a comprehensive list of 45 genetic components that are representative of all components found at LMRs. [Pg.62]

The CREDO data base contains data from The Fast Flux Test Facility in Richland, Washington, The Experimental Breeder Reactor - II in Idaho Falls, Idaho, The test loops of the Energy Technology Engineering Center (ETEC) in Canoga Park, California, The JOYO Liquid Metal Fast Breeder Reactor at the 0-Arai Engineering Center (OEC) in Japan, and the test loops of OEC. [Pg.62]

A scientist s credo might be One measurement is no measurement. Thus, take a few measurements and divine the truth This is an invitation for discussions, worse yet, even disputes among scientists. Science thrives on hypotheses that are either disproven or left to stand in the natural sciences that essentially means experiments are re-mn. Any insufficiency of a model results in a refinement of the existing theory it is rare that a theory completely fails (the nineteenth-century luminiferous ether theory of electromagnetic waves was one such, and cold fusion was a more shortlived case). [Pg.13]

Come vedrai piu avanti, io credo che, per usare SALVIA quale oracolo, sia essenziale un periodo preliminare di consapevole ragionamento sobrio, prima di prendere la SALVIA. [Pg.208]

Further studies by Shiner and coworkers on the diastereomeric 4-(trimethylsilyl)-3-methyl-2-butyl brosylates 56 showed that solvolysis of one diastereomer gave mainly substitution products with a retained configuration68. A minor product is a cyclopropane resulting from nucleophilic attack at silicon in the ionic intermediate. From the stereochemistry of the cyclopropanes obtained it was deduced that the W conformation is favoured over the credo-sickle , as shown in Figures 3a and 3b. [Pg.377]

Modularity is only needed where micro reaction technology is really demanded i.e. for micro fluidic modules. The motto of the developers is thus in analogy with the credo of the authors of this book, not to make microstructured devices as small as possible as many tools as necessary, not as many as possible . [Pg.544]
