Crank-out

The virus, however, does not contain any of the cellular components necessary to replicate itself or synthesize proteins and other macromolecules that is, the virus lacks ribosomes, endoplasmic reticulum, and so on.18 The virus contains only the genetic code (viral genome) that will produce additional viruses. To replicate itself, the virus must rely on the biochemical machinery of the host cell.95 In essence, the virus invades the host cell, takes control of the cell s metabolic function, and uses the host cell s macromolecu-lar-synthesizing apparatus to crank out new viruses. Specific steps in the viral replication process are described in the next section. 

At this point, we need to consider a very important idea. As the equation stands, we need to use the quadratic equation to solve it. You re not going to want to spend your precious time on the AP test (or even now) cranking out quadratic equations, so we re going to make an estimate. The only catch is that we always have to check to make sure that we can get away with the shortcut. The shortcut is to assume that the value for x is going to be so small that subtracting it from 0.10 won t make a dent in it. For example, pretend that x is 0.00001. Subtract that from 0.10. You get 0.09999, which is essentially 0.1. So, we re going to forget about the x in the denominator of the fraction. When we have solved for x, we ll go back and see if we can get away with it. Our new equation is ... 

The toughest letter to crank out is one that is meant to impress, as we all know from writing job applications if it s hard work to slip off a letter to a friend, maybe you re trying too hard to be terrific. A letter is only a report to someone who already likes you for reasons other than your brilliance. Take it easy. 

It seems that at the essence of science is the fundamental question of why, and a clear answer to this question follows from a deep understanding the Nature s machinery. We cannot tell a student, Well, this is what the computer says, because it is more important for you and me to understand than that the computer cranks out an answer. Hence, interpretation of the results will be of crucial importance (a sort of Bader analysis cf.. Chapter 11). Progress in this realm seems to be rather modest for the time being. 

Clearly, the headroom available at the deeper end allows the coimecting edge to be steeper than the opposite end, where less depth is required to attain the same horizontal displacement. The faces of the wall formed by the cranking of the plate follow these inclinations. The crank, or set , in the side wall faces can be made in one of two ways, either crank-in or crank-out , see Fig. 5.24a and b. 

And of course there is the day your buddies suddenly invite you to a dove shoot and Walmart has sold out of Remington ShurShot Heavy Dove, both the 1 V2 and 8, and the local store doesn t carry the 6. Sophisticated marketers have already learned to make smart content - there s really no excuse, at this point, for cranking out crap - but that isn t the end of the line Home run content marketing needs to make people feel something, not just... 

Biotechnology and genetic engineering provide one potential route. We can engineer bacteria, such as the common Escherichia coli (or E. coli) to actually produce proteins that they normally do not have.
