Cracking processes Houdriflow

Houdresid A catalytic petroleum cracking process, similar to Houdriflow, adapted to processing residues. 

Houdriflow A catalytic petroleum cracking process in which the beads of catalyst move continuously through the reactor and the catalyst regenerator. 

Houdriflow catalytic cracking a continuous moving-bed catalytic cracking process employing an integrated single vessel for the reactor and regenerator kiln. 

Houdriflow process. A moving-bed type of catalytic cracking in which the catalyst pellets move downward through a reactor concurrently with the feed. The catalyst is then separated and regenerated for further use. 

The first step in the direction of a continuous process utilized buckets and conveyers to transfer spent catalyst from the reactor to a Thermofor kiln. The Thermofor kiln was in use at that time for burning coke off the Fullers earth used in the filtration of lube oils. The idea of transferring catalyst between a reaction and regeneration zone led to the eventual development of the early bucket elevator TCC, the Houdriflow, the airlift TCC, and eventually the Fluid Catalytic Cracking unit. 

Moving-bed Thermofor cracking with bucket elevators, and the Thermofor Catalytic cracking (T.C.C.) and Houdriflow air-lift processes are examples.
