Chen, J. C., A Correlation for Boiling Heat Transfer to Saturated Fluids in Convection Flow, Heat Trans. Div. ASME Conference, Boston (1963), Paper No. 63-HT-34. 

Chapter 7 deals with the practical problems. It contains the results of the general hydrodynamical and thermal characteristics corresponding to laminar flows in micro-channels of different geometry. The overall correlations for drag and heat transfer coefficients in micro-channels at single- and two-phase flows, as well as data on physical properties of selected working fluids are presented. The correlation for boiling heat transfer is also considered.

Schrock and Grossman (S3, S4) also obtained a similar correlation for boiling in very small tubes ( -in. diameter),... 

Operation in the transition boiling regime is normally avoided in the design of heat transfer equipment, and thus no major attempt has been made to develop general correlations for boiling heal transfer in this regime.

Correlations for Boiling Heat Transfer Nucleate boiling is a complex phenomenon. Several mechanisms have been proposed to explain the boiling process, such as latent heat transport, microconvection, vapor-liquid exchange, wake flow, enhanced convection, and microlayer evaporation, details of which can be found in Ginoux (1978).

Primary amines, secondary amines, and alkyl halides give separate correlations for boiling points.
