Iron Complexes Containing Nickel, Palladium, and Platinum... [Pg.173]

Inner Transition Metal Complexes With Chains of Metal Atoms 103 9.2.12.1. Compounds Containing Nickel, Palladium, and Platinum Chains 9.2.12.1.4. Halogen-Oxidized Complexes Containing 7t-Delocalized Ligands. [Pg.209]

Atypical synthesis of naked NHC-containing complexes has been reported by Cloke and coworkers. As shown in equation (7), the co-condensation of nickel, palladium, and platinum vapor with the free NHC, PBu, provided two-coordinated homoleptic complexes of Ni(0), Pd(0), and Pt(0) (43). Unfortunately, in addition to the poor yield of the isolated product, this original methodology required a metal vapor synthesis apparatus. [Pg.6620]

There are many carbonyl complexes of nickel, palladium, and platinum containing phosphines (L). Nickel compounds of the type [Ni(CO)4 j,Lj,] are readily formed in substitution reactions of [Ni(CO)4]. Palladium and platinum phosphine carbonyls are prepared by reactions of compounds of these metals with carbon monoxide in the presence of phosphines. The following complexes are known [M(CO)L3], [M3(C0)3L3], [M3(C0)3L4], [Pt(CO)2L2] and [M4(CO)5L4] (M = Pd, Pt). Trinuclear platinum compounds resist oxidation. [Pg.94]

The first pol5unetallaynes contained nickel, palladium, or platinum atoms in the main chain and were isolated in 1977 as yellow, film forming materials (203-205). These were prepared by efficient copper halide-catalyzed coupling processes (eg, eq. 36) and possessed estimated molecular weights (Mw) from 13,000 to 120,000. [Pg.4010]

The first systematic study of d-block metallomesogens were carried out by Giroud and Mueller-Westerhoff [11] and marked, in 1977, the beginning of interest in metal-containing systems. They were dithiolene complexes of nickel, palladium and platinum with two p-alkyl phenyl substituents (see structure 3). Nickel and platinum complexes showed nematic and smectic phases, depending on the chain length. Palladium analogs do not possess any mesomorphic properties [81]. [Pg.1926]

Substitution of nickel, palladium, and platinum complexes forms part of a recent review on the kinetics of reactions of these compounds. A review up to 1971 on the chemistry of Co cyanides contains references relevant to Sections 2 [Mixed-ligand Carbonyls displacement of CO], 3, and 4 of this chapter. ... [Pg.351]

Gold, platinum, palladium, and silver are the principal components of most of the solders used for joining both noble and base metal alloys. Some solders for base metal alloys also contain nickel, chromium, and/or cobalt as primary ingredients. [Pg.487]

Compounds of the elements in zero oxidation state are known for all three metals. With one exception, those of nickel contain the equivalent of four ligands coordinated to the metal, whereas palladium and platinum also fonn compounds of empirical formulas ML2 and ML3 (162-164). [Pg.134]
