Consignment agreements

For each consignment, the containers are checked for integrity of package and seal and to verify that the information on the order, the delivery note, and the vendor s labels are in agreement. 

Bill of lading (manifest) The written transportation contract between shipper and carrier. It identifies the freight, who it is consigned to, the place of delivery, and gives the terms of the agreement.

Dutyholders involved in the transfer of fuel by pipeline should develop consignment transfer agreement procedures consistent with good practice principles. 

Procedures should be consistent with the sections of this appendix Principles for safe management of fuel transfer (paragraphs 179-184) and Principles for consignment transfer agreements (paragraphs 193-206). 

This requires an effective means of communication between sender and receiver, which should be achieved by means of a consignment transfer agreement.
