Considerations in Post-Installed Anchor Design

The following factors should be considered when designing connections using post-installed anchors  [Pg.102]

2 Required Edge Distances, Anchor Spacing, Embedment Depth, and Anchor Length [Pg.103]

The anchor selection process should also include a check for the necessary anchor projection to accommodate the attachment requirements, including the length of thread available. [Pg.103]

Information regarding the anchor length, minimum edge distance, anchor spacing, and member depth are contained in evaluation reports issued by ICC-ES, or other evaluation services and in product literature. Design for reduced anchor spacing and edge distance is addressed in the provisions of ACI 318 Appendix D. [Pg.103]

Where it is suspected that the concrete contains significant voids, use of expansion, screw and undercut anchors should be avoided. Likewise, capsule anchors, which provide a finite amount of adhesive, may be inappropriate. Where voids are suspected [Pg.103]
