Considerations for selecting construction method

Construction methods, i.e., equipment and related working methods, must meet the planning of the project, its specifications and the lines and levels set out in the contract. Equipment comprises dredging plant, means of transport of the dredged materials and equipment required at the fill area itself. 

The construction method will also be influenced by the prevailing conditions at the designated borrow area, along the route of transportation and at the proposed reclamation site, these include but are not limited to

Technical and economic evaluations of the feasibility of a dredging project clearly require both a full inventory of the requirements of the Client (expressed as the desired properties of the fill mass) and the boundary conditions, and also a thorough knowledge of the characteristics of the available dredging plant and reclamation methods.
