Confronting AIDS: Direction for Public Health

The 1986 report Confronting AIDS Direction for Public Health, Health Care, and Research was an lOM-initiated project that addressed seriously what had been to that time a largely ignored epidemic. Subsequent reports have addressed needle exchange, the behavioral and mental health aspects of HIV infection and AIDS, and the prevention of perinatal transmission of HIV.
