Conclusions of the Computational Fluid Dynamics Study

Because time and resources for the CFD investigation in engineering business are mostly limited, a very simplified, 2-D simulation of the INCI gasifier was carried out. Such kind of numerical simulation can be seen as first test calculations providing experiences and a basis for more sophisticated investigations. Recommendations for future simulations can be summarized as follows  [Pg.150]

1) Kinetic data, which is gained at elevated pressures (e.g., from Hla et al. [28]), should be used in connection with more advanced turbulence [Pg.151]

2) The drying and pyrolysis process of the particle (e.g., released species) should be refined. [Pg.151]

3) CH4 (and higher hydrocarbons) should be integrated along with according reactions. [Pg.151]

4) A detailed investigation of the influence of the radiation model is necessary as regards to the influence of CO under higher partial pressure. [Pg.151]
