Agent. A computer program that can run autonomously and on a schedule to perform database searches, maintenance, and reporting activities that a chemist would otherwise have to do manually. An example would be an Internet notification service that sends the chemist an e-mail notificationwheneverapar-ticular database has been updated.

The next step in the computer science is when an intelligent method development program is connected to an HPLC system. In this case, it plans and performs experiments autonomously. 

Although the following discussion will concentrate on a personal computer (PC) version of the program, it should be stressed that the concepts and solutions presented here apply also to the mainframe version of AUTONOM. 

The present author has designed, written and implemented the AutoNom program and it is the purpose of this article to describe the current status of the methodologies and algorithms used for such computer-assisted generation and conversion of systematic chemical nomenclature. 

AutoNom is an intuitive program for the PC and the Macintosh which generates lUPAC names from graphics structures. (See AutoNonP Computer System for Automatic Generation of Chemical Nomenclature.)... 

B. Electronic Systems Some sensors were evaluated and the most suitable were acquired. In addition, acomputer was seleeted to run the vehicle s control and navigation programs vehicle in an autonomous way. Along with the computer, some tasks are performed by distributed systems that are micro-controlled and cormected via an appropriate communication bus.
