Computed radiography imaging

Industrial Application of Computed Radiography with Luminescence Imaging Plates. 

Computed radiography with Luminescence Imaging Plates (IP) has become a routine method in medical applications. It is a new medium for filmless radiography. Since the last five years several tests were performed to check this method for industrial NDT [1-3]. ASTM already issued a proposal for a standard. 

Digital Radiography. In this technique, the traditional film is replaced by a linear array of detectors and the X-ray beam is Collimated into a fan beam. The object is moved perpendicularly to the detector array, and the attenuated radiation is sampled digitally by the detectors. Data are processed by stored infoimation in the computer s memory to yield a two-dimensional image of the part being inspected.

Imaging abnormalities that may be detected by radiography, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, ultra-sound, or other imaging modalities.
