Compositional dependence morphologies

At present, amphiphilic mixtures containing surfactants of the type CiEj (alkylpo-lyglycol ether) are most completely characterized. Their phase behavior has been extensively studied by Kahlweit, Olsson, Strey, and coworkers, and detailed knowledge of the temperature- and composition-dependent morphology of such amphiphilic mixtures is available [2,11,22,23,31,53,54,56-58]. In view of this, the majority of theoretical work aiming at a comparison with experiments focuses on these mixtures.

Other reports on the morphology and mechanical behavior of organosiloxane containing copolymeric systems include polyurethanes 201 202), aliphatic 185, 86) and aromatic117,195> polyesters, polycarbonates 233 236>, polyhydroxyethers69,311, siloxane zwitterionomers 294 295) and epoxy networks 115>. All of these systems display two phase morphologies and composition dependent mechanical properties, as expected. 

Abstract Emulsion homopolymers and copolymers (latexes) are widely used in architectural interior and exterior paints, adhesives, and textile industries. Colloidal stabihzators in the emulsion polymerization strongly affect not only the colloidal properties of latexes but also the fdm and mechanical properties, in general. Additionally, the properties of polymer/copolymer latexes depend on the copolymer composition, polymer morphology, initiator, polymerization medium and colloidal characteristics of copolymer particles. 

In order to go further in the understanding of the temperature and composition dependence of toughness, it is useful to examine the morphology in front of the crack. Such a study has been carried out [52] in the case of MGIM58 copolymer. It is obvious that chemical composition of carbon deposit depends not only on the conditions in which pyrolysis is carried out but also on the chemical composition of carbonized organic substances on the surface of the solid carrier. As a result, carbon matter deposited on the surface of mineral carrier, besides C and H, can contain heteroatoms (S,N,0). The problem was discussed in the paper [2]. Similarly, the morphological composition depends on the conditions in which carbonization reaction is carried out. Gierak and Leboda showed [22], that it was possible to obtain graphitized carbon deposit of good mechanical properties under very mild conditions. The obtained adsorbents are applicable in chromatography in separation of polar substance mixtures [22,23].
