Combining geotextiles with other materials

We have also seen new products appear that combine materials and are manufactured using the methods already mentioned, or combined with other geosynthetic products. These new multilayer products are generally grouped together as composite geotextiles. 

Non woven needlepunched geotextiles are often used combined with other fibres and materials to increase drainage capacity. 

Many geotextiles are developed as composites of woven and non woven materials. Examples include needled composites of a woven and a non woven geotextile. This can combine protection layers and filter product. In other examples, polyester yarns are knitted into a nonwoven fabric to create a reinforcement product with a separation functionality.
