Collar eyebolts

Some larger components are fitted with a drilled and tapped hole to accept an eyebolt to simplify lifting. Collar eyebolts, manufactured to BS4278 1984 are available with threads from 6 to 52mm with larger sizes available to order. Imperial threads are available for replacement on older equipment. Typical SWL of an eyebolt having an M45 thread is 8 tonnes. [Pg.322]

Collar eyebolts may be used up to the SWL for axial lifting only. Eyebolts with a link (Fig. 19.14), offer considerable advantages over collar eyebolts, when loading needs to be applied at angles to the axis (Fig. 19.15). Their SWL is relatively greater than those of the plain collar eye-bolt and the load can be applied at any angle. [Pg.322]

The maximum recommended working load at various angles (as indicated in Fig, 19.15) is set out in Table 19,4 for collar eyebolts and in Table 19.5 for eyebolts with a link. [Pg.323]

Maximum load (W) lifted by pair of collar eyebolts when angle (A) between sling is... [Pg.323]
