Cobalt selenites

Cobalt Selenite, CoSe03.2H20, obtained by double decomposition of sodium selenite and a soluble cobalt salt, is a beautiful red-violet crystalline powder, insoluble in water.2... [Pg.57]

The thermal dehydration and dissociation of cobalt selenite dihydrate has been studied.315 The dehydration process is accompanied by the removal of... [Pg.458]

Pyatnitskii and Durdyev [66PYA/DUR] attempted to determine the stability constants of cobalt-selenite complexes from solubility measurements in selenite solution. As discussed in Appendix A, their equilibrium model is likely to be incorrect. The proposed equilibrium constant of the reaction ... [Pg.320]

The authors made a calorimetric determination of the enthalpy change of the reaction between Co(N03)2 6H20(cr) and a solution of sodium selenite with formation of CoSe03 2H20(cr) as established by chemical analysis and X-ray diffraction. The standard enthalpy of formation of cobalt selenite is calculated in Table A-32 with new auxiliary data. [Pg.471]

Diamines. Chromatography has been used to isolate three isomers of trans- and cis-[Co(CN)2 (RR)-cyclohexane-l,2-diamine 2] and five isomers of the corresponding propylenediamine complexes. Mer- and /ac-isomers of tris(meso-pentane-3,4-diamine)cobalt(iii) have been prepared and separated using column chromatography. The rates of aquation of three isomers of [CoCl(tmd)(dien)] and one isomer of [CoCl(tmdXdpt)] have been measured and the kinetic parameters calculated [dpt = NH2(CH2)3NH(CH2)3NH2, tmd = NH2(CH2)3NH2]. The interaction of [Co(dien)2] with sulphate, thiosulphate, sulphite, selenite, tellurite, and carbonate ions has been studied potentiometrically and stability constants determined for the outer-sphere complexes. The i.r. spectrum of octahedral... [Pg.237]

Sulfur has an antagonistic effect on several essential trace elements. Excessive amounts of sulfur can induce a secondary deficiency of copper (mainly in animals), cobalt and selenium. Ho vever, not only the sulfur amino acid cysteine but also sulfate eliminates the adverse effects of copper-, cobalt-or selenium-based toxicities (Baker and Czarnecki-Maulden 1987). Sulfate increases the urinary loss of selenate, but not of selenite this explains the assumption that there is a direct antagonism between sulfate and selenate (Schrauzer 1998). [Pg.1311]
