Allen et al. (2001) implanted DLC-coated cobalt-chromium cylinders in intramuscular locations in rats and in transcortical sites in sheep. Their histological analysis of specimens retrieved 90 days after surgery showed that the DLC-coated specimens were well tolerated in both sites (AUen et al., 2001). 

A quadruple nanoparticle imaging system based on Ga was reported by Kim et al Rhodamine modified, silica coated cobalt-ferrite nanoparticle were decorated with luciferase (MFB) and p-SCN bn NOTA (2-(4-isothiocyanatobenzyl)-1,4,7-triazacyclonane-l, 4,7-triacetic acid) followed by Ga incorporation. This example, together with related nanoparticles studies reinforce the view that such systems could become promising multimodal imaging agents for bioluminescence, fluorescence, MRI and PET imaging techniques. ... 

Using the microemulsion technique, metallic cobalt cobalt/platinum alloys , and gold-coated cobalt/platinum nanoparticles have been synthesized. MFep (M Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Mg, or Cd, etc.) are among the most important magnetic materials and have been widely used for electronic applications .

Combustion Reactor—First place a 2 mm plug of quartz wool in the bottom of the tube. Fill the tube with 50 mm of silver coated cobalt oxide. Insert a 10 mm thick plug of quartz wool. Add 120 mm of chromic oxide. Inset a 10 mm thick plug of quartz wool. Slide the combustion tube into the combustion furnace and secure with the o-ring fittings.
