The coating of wire gauze DX-packings is also described in Ref. [31], and in this way a catalyst hold-up of 17 g in 50 cm of packing was achieved. The catalyst bags of the katapak-S were filled with a sieve fraction (250-500 pm) of ground H-BEA extrudates, and this resulted in ca. 66-67 g catalyst in 50 cm of packing. 

Tables 5.5 and 5.6 show examples of manufacturing process variables for coating of wires, which comply with US Military (MIL) Standards, using two commercial resins.

The big attention to polyesteresterketones is paid in aircraft and space industries. The requirements to fire-resistance of plastics used in crafts have become stricter within the last years. Umeinforced polyesteresterketones satisfy these demands having the fire-resistance category U-0 on UL 94 at thickness 0.8 mm. In addition, this pol5mier releases few smoke and toxic substances in combustion (is used in a subway). The polyes-teresterketone is used for coating of wires and cables, used in details of aerospace facility (the low inflammability, the excellent permeability and the wear stability), in military facility, ship building, on nuclear power plants (resists the radiation of about 1000 Mrad and temperature of water steam 185 °C), in oil wells (pillar stand to the action of water imder pressure, at a temperature of 288 °C), in electrical engineering and electronics. 

Dancer roll n. A roller mounted on an axis, which is movable with respect to axes of other rollers in an apparatus, used to control or measure tension of a continuous web or strand as it passes through a series of rollers. Dancer rolls are used as tensionsensing devices in the extrusion coating of wire, and as tension-maintaining devices in film winding.

There are a number of minor uses of tin stabUizer in flexible PVC compounding. These, as with flooring components, typically date from times when the only suitably effective mixed metal stabilizers were based on cadmium. A common characteristic of these diverse uses is poorly controlled processing conditions. For example, the coating of wire lobster traps with plastisol can involve fusion in homemade ovens of variable and uncertain temperature. The same situation may occur in cottage industry manufacture of doll parts from plastisol. In such cases, the cost of the stabilizer may be irrelevant, and a tin maleate ester is a good choice. It is often not worthwhile for stabilizer suppliers to pursue such accounts with high-efficiency Ca/Zn liquids. 

In the continuous powder coating of wire—most often for fencing, but occasionally for insulated cable components — it is advantageous to use electrostatic fluidized bed devices. In these, electrodes arc embedded in the fluidized compound and a ground plate is mounted above the bed.
