In this framework, we can consider a spherical distribution of the atoms clouds charge in molecule, so that the molecular energy can be rewritten accordingly (Genechten et al., 1987) ... 

Lone pairs of electrons have a more concentrated electron charge cloud than bonding pairs of electrons. Their cloud charges are wider and slightly closer to the nucleus of the central atom. This results in a different amount of repulsion between different types of electron pairs.
