Closure sampling importance

SAMPLE CLOSURE is important since it affects the rate of solid state reaction. Consider the foUowing solid state reaction ... [Pg.384]

Building decontamination technology continues to advance as each project is executed. New technologies are developed for specific applications, and participants gain a better understanding of the importance of exposure assessments, closure sampling, and... [Pg.374]

Important facts Baertschi et al. have presented include the importance of container shape, the effect of sample closure on testing, the effect of source selection on kinetics, chamber mapping and their effect the results obtained (272). [Pg.24]

Using effective controls, controlled conditions and well-controlled tests constitutes an important part of all investigational experimentation. It is an often neglected subject. Equally such experimentation should be supported by adequate statistical control. Take a situation where a wadded and a wadless (no liner) closure are to be placed on an HDPE bottle and then stored over a 6 month period in a cycling cabinet which cycles between 15°C 50% RH and 37°C 90% RH each 24 h. Question— devise a statisically controlled experiment to check any torque changes, indicating the number of samples required. Personally I would suggest the use of an induction sealed closure as the experimentation could be complex and costly for the information achieved. [Pg.235]

The dust carried out of the hole with this flushing air can be trapped in a dust collector, which is mounted on the drilling machine. It comprises a cyclone in which the coarser particles are precipitated, while the finer ones are retained in special filters. The suction extractor is connected to a flexible tube which terminates in a plastic sleeve forming an airtight closure over the mouth of the borehole, so that all the dust can be collected. For testing the samples it is important not only to analyse the dust precipitated in the cyclone, but also to include the fine particles trapped in the filter equipment. [Pg.17]

By sampling over all micro- and macro-scales, the averages or integrals in (12.6.1-1) and (12.6.1-2) account for the combined effects of micro- and macro-mixing on the reactor-scale behavior. Only in particular cases, specific information on micro- or macro-mixing can be associated with or extracted from / (see Example 12.6.1.A). This will be shown to be of importance for the applicability of RTD to cases in which both flow and reaction occur (see Section 12.6.4). The solution of (12.6.1-1) requires closure models for /, ... [Pg.677]
