Clamp-type bonding

With the shear-type coupling, the elastomeric element may be clamped or bonded in place, or fitted securely to the hubs. The compression-type couplings may be fitted with projecting pins, bolts, or lugs to connect the components. Polyurethane, rubber, neoprene, or cloth and fiber materials are used in the manufacture of these elements. [Pg.994]

Many kinds of adhesives are utilized in the bonding of loudspeaker magnets, DC motor assemblies, and other types of magnet bonding. Some manufacturers still prefer to use mechanical clamps. The factors that contribute to the choice of a joining process include the cost of the adhesive, labor rates, speed of adhesive fixture, acceptability of odor level, and energy costs. Aerobic acrylic adhesives have been used primarily for their rapid fixture (as little as 10 seconds) resulting in faster assembly rates. [Pg.737]

Crimp terminals are made of tinned sheet copper. The chosen crimp terminal is slipped over the end of the conductor and crimped with the special crimping tool. This type of connection is very effective for connecting equipotential bonding conductors to approved earth clamps. [Pg.293]

Weldbonding is also called spot-weld adhesive bonding. It is a method of fabricating hardware that uses both welding and adhesive bonding techniques. A layer of adhesive, either in paste or in film form, is applied to one of the metal members to be joined. The other metal member is placed on top, forming a lap-type joint, and the assembly is clamped or resistance... [Pg.201]
