Cis-trans isomery

Bei dicser Bezeichnung muC man beachten, dafi diese Isomeric nicht der wahren geometrischen cis-trans-Isomerie entspricht. 

Von tritaktischen Polymeren sind nur sehr wenige Vertretcr bekannt und auch nur solche, die pro Grundbaustein eine Doppelbindung (cis-trans-Isomerie) und zwei diasterische Kohlenstoffatome besitzen.

Von besonderem Interesse war fiir uns die Isomerie um eine Doppelbin-dung welche mit anderen Doppelbindungen kreuz-konjugiert ist. Wir beschrieben seinerzeit (2) die cis-trans-Isomerie der Verbindungen XIII und XIV auf Grand der verschiedenen Dipolmomente der beiden Iso-mere.

Mit Hilfe derselben Methode konnte Wettermark zeigen, daB eine tautomere Form (XII H) zwar gebildet wird, daB sie aber viel rascher ver-schwindet, als es der Riickbildung des trans-isomers entspricht. It has been suggested (Koyama et al. 1990, Kuki et al. 1995) that cis carotenoid isomers, and specifically the l5-cis isomer, exists in the RC to enhance the ability of the carotenoid to dissipate triplet energy via cis-to-trans isomerization.
