Circumflex artery proximal

In Fig. 2.2, the PET perfusion images show severe stenosis or occlusion of the left circumflex (LCx) and right (RCA) coronary arteries with a moderately severe stenosis of the left anterior descending (LAD) coronary artery proximal to its second diagonal branch. The ejection fraction (EF) and regional LV contraction were normal. Therefore, this example illustrates purely ischemic myocardium without scar and without injured or poorly contracting myocardium. [Pg.15]

The main blood supply to osteosarcomas in the proximal femur arises from the femoral circumflex and branches of the deep femoral arteries. Frequently, the segment of the deep femoral artery proximal to the origin of the circumflex arteries is so short that a catheter in this position is unstable and may dislodge into the superficial femoral artery resulting in inadequate infusion. This is best avoided by placing the catheter tip in the external iliac segment (Fig. 9.16). [Pg.213]

Perthes disease, also known as Legg-Calv -Perthes syndrome after the investigators who independently identified this condition in 1910, is related to an idiopathic avascular necrosis of the proximal femoral epiphysis. It mainly affects children 3-12 years old with a peak incidence at approximately 4-8 years and a definite prevalence (4 1) in males and lower social classes (Guille et al. 1998). The onset of Perthes disease is related to the development of the femoral head vasculature, which includes the ascending cervical arteries (branches from the medial and lateral circumflex arteries), the lateral epiphyseal vessels and... [Pg.931]

A 31-year-old woman suddenly developed central chest pain, with a normal electrocardiogram. Changes in troponin and creatine kinase MB were consistent with acute myocardial infarction. Drug screening was positive for amphetamines and barbiturates. Coronary angiography showed an aneurysm with 99% occlusion of the proximal left circumflex coronary artery and extravasation of contrast material. A stent was inserted percutaneously and antegrade flow was achieved without residual stenosis. [Pg.454]
