Chloro ligand

During the course of an attempted recrystallization of this complex from benzene containing chlorinated impurities the solution was exposed to light. The crystalline compound that formed from this solution was identified by X-ray crystallography as Mo(TPP)(Ph)Cl (Fig. 3). The complex contains Irons phenyl and chloro ligands, and the Mo—C and Mo—N4 plane distances are 2.241(1) and 0.125 A, respectively. A systematic synthesis of the complex could not subsequently be developed and consequently other spectroscopic and magnetic data were not collected. [Pg.243]

Both chloro ligands of [Pt2Cl2(/u-dppm)2] are replaced by quinoline, 1-methylimidazole, and 4-t-butylpyridine, but only one is replaced by 2,4,6-trimethylpyridine.109 All of these platinum(I) dimers and pt2(PPh3)2(/i-dppm)2] display solid-state luminescence at room temperature and long emission lifetimes at 77 K.109... [Pg.687]

The diarsine and arsine/phosphine analogues of dppm have been used to prepare bridged diplatinum(I) complexes, in both cases with terminal chloro ligands.116,117 Both complexes react with carbon monoxide to produce carbonyl-bridged species. The mixed thio/phosphine ligand Ph2PCH2SMe (PS) also forms a diplatinum(I) complex by conproportionation of its dichloroplat-inum(II) complex with [Pt(dba)2].118 This dimer reacts with carbon monoxide to produce an unsupported dimer [PtCl(PS)(CO)]2 with the thioether arm of the Ph2PCH2SMe unbound. [Pg.687]

Only a few dicadmium(I) compounds are known so far. The very first structurally characterized is Cd2(AlCl4)2, which contains Cd2 groups in a trigonally elongated octahedron of chloro ligands... [Pg.1285]

All studied complexes in aqueous solution are present as diaqua [Mn(L)(H20)2] species, whereas two chloro ligands are replaced by water molecules in axial positions (35,36). For studying the water-exchange processes it was necessary first to determine the acid-base properties of the complexes by potentiometric titration in order to define the pH range where the diaqua form of the studied complexes is the predominant one. The potentiometric titrations of... [Pg.66]
