Chlorinated rubber paints composition

Biphenol derivatives are quite resistant to hydrolysis and oxidation and have excellent electrical characteristics. The more highly chlorinated types are flame resistant and impart this quality to resins with which they are used. They are of special interest in chlorinated rubber, paints, and PVC electrical compositions. [Pg.56]

Composition. Chlorinated rubber combination paints contain a second resin as the property-determining binder. The chlorinated rubber is added to an alkyd resin, acrylic resin, or bituminous substances to improve properties such as drying rate, water resistance, or chemical resistance. This application only accounts for a small proportion of the total chlorinated rubber consumption. [Pg.22]

Tetrahydronaphthalene (1,2,3,4-tetra-hydronaphthalene, Tetralin) n. C10H12. This bicyclic, high-boiling, semi-aromatic hydrocarbon, produced by the partial hydrogenation of naphthalene, is an involatile solvent for rubbers, PVC, and natural resins. Bp, 198-210°C Sp gr, 0.971/20°C flp, 77°C (170°F) vp,chlorinated rubber finishes, and in paint removers. [Pg.965]
